Regular Season Round 21: Bankstown B. - Hills H. 67-59
Date: July 15, 2023
Not a big story in a game when 15th ranked Hills Hornets (4-17) lost to tenth ranked Bruins (11-10) in Condell Park 59-67 on Saturday. American guard Violet Morrow (176-1997, college: EWU, agency: Interperformances) nailed a double-double by scoring 15 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side and guard Shalome Dunlop (172-2003) accounted for 20 points and 5 rebounds. Morrow is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Bruins' coach used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Rhiannon Yetsenga came up with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds and Taylah Cottees added 16 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Hills Hornets in the defeat. The victory was the third consecutive win for Bruins. They moved-up to ninth place. Hills Hornets lost their third game in a row. They keep the fifteenth position with 17 games lost. Bruins will meet league's second-placed Falcons in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Hills Hornets will play against the league's leader Manly Warringah Sea Eagles (#1) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
