Everything went according to plan when seventh ranked Eagles (9-9) outplayed 10th ranked Lions (1-17) in Gawler 119-64 on Saturday. Eagles forced 20 Lions turnovers and outrebounded them 45-32 including 16 on the offensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 37 assists comparing to just 17 passes made by Lions' players. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Eagles made 8 blocks. American forward Marissa Hamilton (183-1999, college: Merrimack) nailed 18 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists for the winning side and Rachael Hines accounted for 22 points and 5 rebounds. Four Eagles players scored in double figures. American center Imani Guy (193, college: Marian, IN) came up with a double-double by scoring 29 points and 11 rebounds and forward Tiahna Sears (178, college: N.Alabama) added 23 points and 9 rebounds respectively for Lions in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Eagles maintains seventh place with 9-9 record.
