Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both eighth ranked Cairns Marlins and 4th placed Rip City had identical 10-8 record. This time Cairns Marlins used a home court advantage and outleveled the opponent from Sippy Downs 123-102 on Saturday night. Cairns Marlins made 18-of-21 free shots (85.7 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. The best player for the winners was Jonah Antonio (196-1997, college: Wake Forest) who scored 41 points (!!!). The former international point guard Tad Dufelmeier (183-1996, college: CUI) chipped in a double-double by scoring 27 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. Cairns Marlins' coach Kerry Williams felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was naturalized Sudanese forward Kouat Noi (201-1997, college: TCU) who recorded a double-double by scoring 37 points (!!!) and 16 rebounds and American guard Brandon Wood (188-1989, college: Michigan St., agency: Interperformances) added 21 points and 6 rebounds respectively.
