Very predictable result when sixth ranked Sutherland Sharks (14-7) smashed at home 14th ranked Manly Warringah Sea Eagles (4-17) 85-62 on Saturday. Sutherland Sharks shot 26 for 36 from the free-throw line, while Manly Warringah Sea Eagles only scored nine points from the stripe. The best player for the winners was Geoff Gerlach (203-1995, college: CUI) who had a double-double by scoring 14 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists. American guard Jordan Mitchell (186-1995, college: BENUM) chipped in 19 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Five Sutherland Sharks players scored in double figures. Sutherland Sharks' coach Patrick Williamson felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Matthew Eldridge (203-1996, college: Lindsey Wilson) who recorded a double-double by scoring 12 points and 12 rebounds and Denis Radosevic (195-1997) added 7 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Sutherland Sharks moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Sandringham S. and Maitland M. Manly Warringah Sea Eagles lost their fifth game in a row. They dropped to the thirteenth position with 17 games lost. They share it with SW Slammers and Bankstown B.. Sutherland Sharks will meet higher ranked Canberra Gunners (#3) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Manly Warringah Sea Eagles will play against Hills Hornets (#7) and hope to secure a win.
