No shocking result in a game when fourth ranked Canberra Gunners (14-5) outleveled at home 9th ranked Bandits (10-11) 95-74 on Saturday. They outrebounded Bandits 49-35 including 36 on the defensive glass. Canberra Gunners looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. The best player for the winners was point guard Dhal Fieg (180-2001, college: S.Georgia Tech) who scored 27 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Center Glenn Morison (208-1999, college: St.Edward's) chipped in 19 points and 9 rebounds. Five Canberra Gunners players scored in double figures. Canberra Gunners' coach Peter Herak felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Lochlan Cummings (189-1995, college: HIU) who recorded 23 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and American power forward Jamir Coleman (204-1997, college: CCSU, agency: Haylett Sports) added 22 points and 11 rebounds respectively. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Canberra Gunners. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Hume City B. and Sunbury J. Loser Bandits dropped to the eighth position with 11 games lost. They share it with 4 other teams. Canberra Gunners will meet at home Sutherland Sharks (#6) in the next round. Bandits will play against Mustangs and hope to secure a win.
