The most exciting game of round 10 in the NBL took place in Cairns. This derby game ended with only three-point home defeat of 7th rankedCairns Taipans (6-8) to third ranked Kings (8-6) 86-83 on Thursday evening. Sydney outrebounded Cairns 46-27 including a 39-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. 27 personal fouls committed by Cairns helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The game was dominated by American players. Point guard Jaylen Adams (188-1996, college: St.Bonaventure) fired 24 points and 7 assists (made all of his twelve free throws !!!) for the winners. Forward DJ Hogg (203-1996, college: Texas A&M) chipped in 12 points and 7 rebounds. Guard Patrick Miller (185-1992, college: Tennessee St., agency: Slash Sports) produced 22 points and 7 assists and guard Tahjere McCall (193-1994, college: Tennessee St.) added 12 points and 6 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Cairns Taipans' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Defending champion maintains third position with 8-6 record having just three points less than leader Melbourne, which they share with Perth and SE Melbourne. Cairns at the other side keep the seventh place with eight games lost.
