There was no surprise when 6th rankedBendigo Spirit (3-6) was defeated at home by fourth ranked Southside Flyers (6-3) 91-81 on Sunday. Southside dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Bendigo Spirit 's 26. Worth to mention a great performance of international point guard Maddison Rocci (169-1998) who helped to win the game recording 24 points and 7 assists and guard Rebecca Cole (178-1992) who added 24 points (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field) during the contest. American forward Mehryn Kraker (183-1994, college: Green Bay) responded with 20 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and the former international power forward Kelsey Griffin (188-1987, college: Nebraska) scored 18 points. Four Bendigo players scored in double figures. Southside moved-up to second place, which they share with Perth. Bendigo at the other side keeps the sixth position with six games lost.
