Important game to mention about took place in Hobart. Seventh rankedHawks (9-10) saved a 1-point victory on the road edging 3rd placed JackJumpers (11-11) 108-107 on Friday evening. Illawarra dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to JackJumpers 's 46. Illawarra outrebounded Tasmania JJ 55-44 including a 44-33 advantage in defensive rebounds. Tasmania JJ was plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. It was an exceptional evening for American Gary Clark (198-1994, college: Cincinnati) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 15 rebounds. The former international power forward Samson Froling (212-2000, college: Creighton) accounted for 23 points and 8 rebounds for the winning side. American Milton Doyle (193-1993, college: Loyola, IL) came up with 19 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists and the other American import point guard Jordon Crawford (168-1990, college: BGSU, agency: Slash Sports) added 24 points and 4 assists respectively for Tasmania JJ in the defeat. Five Illawarra and four Tasmania JJ players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Hawks have a solid series of four victories in a row. Illawarra maintains seventh place with 9-10 record. Tasmania JJ at the other side keeps the third position with 11 games lost. They share it with Sydney and Brisbane.
