Top rankedTownsville Fire (13-6) recorded its sixth loss at the home court on Sunday night. Hosts were rolled over by fifth ranked Bendigo Spirit (11-9) 93-60 . Bendigo looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was the former international power forward Kelsey Griffin (188-1987, college: Nebraska) who had a double-double by scoring 21 points, 14 rebounds and 5 assists. Guard Alex Wilson (175-1994) chipped in a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 rebounds. Four Bendigo Spirit players scored in double figures. The former international forward Zitina Aokuso (194-1998) produced 11 points and 6 rebounds and the former international guard Stephanie Reid (168-1996, college: Buffalo) added 8 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Townsville Fire's coach gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Bendigo Spirit have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Melbourne and Sydney. Defending champion Townsville still keeps top position with six games lost.
