Everything went according to plan in Hermit Park where leaderMackay Meteors (4-0) won against 10th ranked Townsville Heat (2-4) 102-87 on Saturday. Mackay made 22-of-26 free shots (84.6 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Guard Isaac White (188-1998, college: CBU) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 26 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners and power forward Luca Yates (208-2004, college: Barry) chipped in 20 points and 10 rebounds. Mackay Meteors' coach used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was swingman Richard Peachey (201-2003, college: Umpqua CC) with 22 points and 7 rebounds and forward Harry Morris (198-2002) scored 21 points and 6 rebounds. Four Mackay and five Townsville H. players scored in double figures. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Mackay Meteors . They keep a position of league leader. Loser Townsville Heat dropped to the eleventh place with four games lost. They share the position with Brisbane C. and SD Spartans.
