No shocking result in a game when third rankedSeahawks (8-1) beat 10th ranked Meteorettes (1-5) in Runaway Bay 104-90 on Friday. NGC Seahawks made 24-of-30 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. NGC Seahawks outrebounded Mackay 51-25 including a 17-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. NGC Seahawks looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. The winners were led by forward Mikaela Ruef (191-1990, college: Stanford) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 36 points (!!!), 26 rebounds and 6 assists and guard Miela Goodchild (180-2000, college: Duke) supported her with 31 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line). Seahawks' coach used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. Even 20 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists by swingman Taylor Mole (188, college: UCSB) did not help to save the game for Mackay . American guard Sam Haiby (175, college: Nebraska) added 20 points. Five Mackay players scored in double figures. Seahawks have an impressive seven-game winning streak. NGC Seahawks keep a position of league leader, which they share with N.Adelaide R. and C.Districts L. Mackay lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the tenth place with five games lost. They share the position with Gold Coast R. and SC Phoenix.
