Regular Season Round 15: Blackburn - Western PS 101-90

Everything could happen in Melbourne at the game between two tied teams. Both tenth rankedVikings and 11th ranked Steelers had identical 4-13 record. This time Vikings used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Western Port 101-90 on Sunday night. Strangely Western PS outrebounded Blackburn 51-37 including 16 on the offensive glass. The best player for the winners was American guard James Legan (190-1987, college: ECU) who scored 37 points (!!!) and 8 rebounds. His fellow American import Anthony Kimble (196-1987, college: GSU) chipped in a double-double by scoring 15 points and 14 rebounds. Worth to mention Kimble played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which helped get the job in pro basketball. Five Vikings players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was naturalized British forward Paul Brotherson (197-1989, college: MSU Denver) who recorded 27 points and 7 rebounds and Liam Ingram added 19 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists respectively. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the third consecutive win for Vikings . Blackburn maintains tenth place with 5-13 record. Loser Steelers dropped to the bottom position with 14 games lost. They share it with Camberwell.
