Group AMarshall Islands - Guam 34-151Guam left no chance for Marshall Islands in the opener. The hosts dominated from start to finish to record a well-deserved win. Eight players scored in double digits for Guam. Nathaniel Arapoc (180-PG-00) and Lawrence Tisalona notched 22 points each in the victory. Guam claimed a 77:21 halftime lead. They poured in 74 points in the second half to cruise to the win. Gabriel Simon (182-PG-00) and Alschea Grape (172-PG-00) tossed in 18 points each for the winners. Justin Stovall (165-G-00) responded with 8 points for Marshall Islands. New Zealand - Tahiti 106-36 New Zealand eased past Tahiti at the start of the championship. Max de Geest (183-G-00) produced 21 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Kiwis. New Zealand piled up a 52:20 halftime lead and never looked back en route to the win. Tom Higgins (196-F-00) delivered 14 points and 9 caroms in the victory. Rirava Sarciaux (184-SF-00) responded with 8 points for Tahiti. Group BPalau - Samoa 48-126Samoa outgunned Palau to start their Oceania Championship campaign. Tumau Tautau (195-F/G-00) tallied 25 points and 13 boards to pace the winners. Samoa enjoyed a 60:22 halftime lead. They went on a 40:16 run in the third term to build an unassailable lead. Clarke Aiono (187-F-01) had 24 points and 14 rebounds for the winners. Garnett Sungino (01) responded with 12 points for Palau. Australia - New Caledonia 155-32 Australia unloaded 155 points en route to a stunning victory over New Caledonia. Kody Stattmann (194-F/G-00) accounted for 33 points for the Crocs. Australia fired 49 points in the first period to clear off for good. Aiden Krause (193-F/G-00) provided 31 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists in the victory. Florian Patche (182-PG-00) responded with 10 points for New Caledonia. |
