Group A

Guam - New Zealand 19-104
New Zealand thumped Guam for the second victory in Paita. New Zealand accumulated a 49:6 halftime advantage. They dropped 55 points in the second half to ease to the win. Campbell Atkinson (200-SF-02) had 14 points, while Sean Murphy (194-SG-02) contributed 13 points for the Junior Tall Blacks. Isaiah Malig (170-G-02) tossed in 6 points for Guam.

Samoa - Australia 24-112
Australia crushed Samoa for the second straight win in Group A. Australia registered a 54:10 halftime lead and never looked back en route to the win. Reyne Smith (186-G-02) chipped in 28 points, while Paul Tsapatolis (206-C-02) added 18 points for the winners. Egon Keil (193-F-02) replied with 8 points and 11 rebounds for Samoa.

Group B

New Caledonia - Tahiti 43-71
Tahiti claimed the second straight win in Paita. They cruised past New Caledonia in Group B. New Caledonia recorded a 19:11 lead ten minutes int the game. But Tahiti responded with a 24:5 run in the second term to take a 35:24 halftime lead. Tahiti held their opponents to just 19 points in the second half to march to the win. Maui Roopina (183-G-02) provided 28 points and 7 steals for Tahiti. Luther Puleoto (05) had 12 points for New Caledonia.

Papua New Guinea - Cook Islands 72-61
Papua New Guinea held off Cook Islands to take the first win at the championship. Cook Islands eked out a 30:29 halftime lead. They extended the lead at 2-point mark at the final break. But Papua New Guinea used a 21:8 run in the fourth quarter to snatch the win. Sammy Baea (185-SF-03) produced 20 points and 15 rebounds for the home side. Matthew Marsters (04) replied with 25 points and 16 rebounds for Cook Islands.
