New Zealand - Cook Islands 145-37

New Zealand delivered an overwhelming performance in the FIBA U17 Oceania Cup, defeating the Cook Islands 145–37 in a dominant display from start to finish. The Kiwis established control early with a 21–8 first quarter before exploding offensively in the second, outscoring their opponents 41–11 to build a massive halftime lead. New Zealand continued their relentless pace in the third period with a 26–2 run and closed the game in emphatic fashion by pouring in 57 points in the final quarter. Despite the Cook Islands fighting until the end, New Zealand’s superior depth, speed, and efficiency resulted in a comprehensive victory.
Milan Newton (183-G-2008) and Hoani Ifopo-Togia (195-F-2008) top-scored for the winners with 21 points each, whilst Ezekiel Otunuku (194-F-2008) netted 20. Cody Wicks (195-F-2008) answered with 12 points in a loss.
