Manawatu Jets (NBL) landed 28-year old American 206cm power forward Troy Baxter Jr. (college: Morgan State) for new season. Baxter played recently at OKC Blue (NBA G League) in the U.S. In two games he averaged just 2.5ppg. He also played for Trouville in Uruguayan LUB where in three games he had 12.7ppg, 2.7rpg, 1.0apg and 1.0spg. He won a championship with the Canterbury Rams in New Zealand in 2023.
He is a very experienced player. And here thanks to pro basketball he experienced life in seven different countries playing on five different continents. Baxter is familiar with European, Asian, Latin American, Australian and of course North American leagues. He has played previously professionally in Dominican Republic (Indios), Lebanon (Antranik), Paraguay (San Jose), New Zealand (Rams), NBA G League (Indiana Mad Ants, Grand Rapids Gold, Windy City Bulls and Wisconsin Baxterrd), The Basketball Tournament (GCG) and Mongolia (Khatsaga).
He was voted to MEAC All-Defensive Team back in 2021.
Baxter graduated from Morgan State in 2021 and it is his third season in pro basketball. He played for other colleges like: Florida Gulf Coast University, University of Nevada - Las Vegas.
