Experienced International Swingman Reuben Te Rangi (198-F/G-1994) had a very impressive game in the last round for Tauranga Whai and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 10.
The 31-year old swingman had the game-high 37 points adding eight rebounds and five assists for Whai in his team's victory, helping them to beat Hawks (#11, 2-8) 94-88. Tauranga is placed at 8th position in New Zealand NBL. Whai is rather a weak team placed in lower part in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 3-6 record. In the team's last game Te Rangi had a remarkable 71.4% from 2-point range. He just recently signed at Tauranga, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Te Rangi has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in points (2nd best: 25.5ppg) and averages solid 73.3% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young American guard Caleb Asberry (191-G-2000) of league's best team Southland Sharks. Asberry impressed basketball fans with 29 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Of course Sharks cruised to a 99-89 relatively comfortable win over the lower-ranked Nuggets (#5, 5-4). Of course Sharks still keep the league's top spot. His team lost just two games this season, while they won 9 matches. Asberry is one of the most experienced players at Sharks and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 22.6ppg (#4). His other stats are also decent: 4.6rpg and 4.7apg.

The third best performed player last round was American Tamenang Choh (196-F-1998, agency: Helping Ballers) of second-ranked Canterbury Rams. Choh showcased his all-around game by recording 20 points, 9 rebounds and 9 assists in the last round. He was a key player of Rams, leading his team to a 93-74 easy win against the lower-ranked Giants (#10, 2-7). Rams is closer and closer to top of the standings. They will still need more victories. But 8-2 record is not that bad... Choh has a great season in New Zealand. After only 8 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 7.9rpg (9th best).
