Best players of New Zealand NBL round 16 (by Hoops Agents)

American Josh Roberts (205-F-1999) had an amazing evening in the last round for Hawkes Bay Hawks and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 16.
The 25-year old forward had a double-double of 26 points and 28 rebounds, while his team crushed Jets (#11, 1-17) with 19-point margin 97-78. Hawks is placed at 8th position in New Zealand NBL. Hawks is rather a weak team placed in lower part in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 7-12 record. Roberts has many years of experience at Hawks, through which he has constantly improved. Manhattan College graduate has very impressive stats this year. Roberts leads league in rebounds with 13.3rpg. Roberts is in league's top in and averages solid 1.7bpg and 61.7% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young American guard Zaccheus Darko-Kelly (198-G-1997) of Otago Nuggets. Darko-Kelly impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 34 points and 10 rebounds. Of course Nuggets cruised to a 88-79 relatively comfortable win over slightly higher-ranked Giants (#6, 8-11). This victory allowed Nuggets to move up to 7th position in the standings. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 7-12 record. Darko-Kelly is one of the most experienced players at Nuggets and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

The third best performed player last round was Carlin Davison (196-G-2003) of Taranaki Airs (#4). Davison scored 23 points and grabbed 16 rebounds (!!!). Despite Davison's great performance the Airs lost 76-77 to #2 ranked Tuatara. But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates especially in such crucial game. The last thing Airs needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams. Their record is 13 victories and 6 lost games. Davison has a very solid season. In 18 games in New Zealand he scored 16.7ppg. He also has 7.4rpg and a FGP of 57.5%.

10. Taylor Britt (187-G-1996) of Rams - 21 points, 3 rebounds and 6 assists
