William Hickey's triple-double lands him Hoops Agents Player of the Week award

25-year old Australian guard William Hickey (194-G-1999) had an amazing evening in the last round for Auckland Tuatara and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 6.
He recorded a triple-double of 29 points adding also 11 rebounds and 11 assists, while his team beat Sharks (#10, 2-4) 102-92. Tuatara is placed at 7th position in New Zealand league. Tuatara is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 3-3 record. In the team's last game Hickey had a remarkable 62.5% from 2-point range. He just recently signed at Tuatara and just after two games he already turned to be a very valuable addition to the team. William Hickey averages just after two games 30.0ppg, 11.0rpg and 10.5apg.

Second best performed player last round was Daniel Grida (195-G/F-1998) of Hawkes Bay Hawks. He is Australian swingman in his first season at Hawks. In the last game Grida recorded an impressive 30 points, 7 rebounds and 2 assists. Of course Hawks cruised to a 86-74 relatively comfortable win over Whai (4-2). This victory allowed Hawks to move up to 5th position in the standings. His team lost some distance to top teams. But a 4-2 record is not bad and everything may still change. Grida is one of the most experienced players at Hawks and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

Third place about best performers goes to forward Jose Perez (196-F-1998) of Otago Nuggets (#8). Perez showcased his all-around game by recording 18 points, 9 rebounds and 13 assists (!!!) in the last round. He was a key player of Nuggets, leading his team to a 98-77 easy win against Panthers (#12, 0-6). Nuggets needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 3 victories and 3 lost games. Perez has a great season in New Zealand. After only 6 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 21.2ppg (7th best) and assists with 6.0apg (9th best).
