22-year old AUS-NZLn guard Keanu Rasmussen (188-G-2003) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Hawkes Bay Hawks and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 8.
He had the game-high 39 points adding six rebounds and five assists for Hawks in his team's victory, helping them to beat Giants (2-5) 102-96. The game rather meaningless between the teams, which do not have any influence on top of the standings. Hawks is placed at 10th position in New Zealand league. Too late to salvage the team, which is currently ranked such low. They already lost 5 games and recorded just two victories. In the team's last game Rasmussen had a remarkable 75.0% from 2-point range and got three three-pointers out of 6 attempts. He just recently signed at Hawks, being already a very valuable addition to the team. California Baptist University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Rasmussen is in league's top in points (9th best: 22.0ppg) and averages solid 72.5% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Elijah Pepper (193-G-2001) of Wellington Saints. He is American guard in his first season at Saints. In the last game Pepper recorded an impressive 43 points, 5 rebounds and 2 assists. Bad luck as Saints lost that game 90-104 to the higher-ranked Sharks (#1, 8-2). It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. Saints still maintains its place in the top 4 of the standings, even despite this loss. His team's 5-3 record is not bad at all. Pepper is one of the most experienced players at Saints and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 29.0ppg (#1). His other stats are also decent: 5.5rpg and 5.5apg.

Third place about best performers goes to guard Caleb Asberry (191-G-2000) of league's leader Southland Sharks. Asberry showcased his all-around game by recording 26 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists in the last round. He was a key player of Sharks, leading his team to a 104-90 easy win against #4 ranked Saints. Sharks confirms their top position in the standings. Asberry has a very solid season. In 8 games in New Zealand he scored 21.8ppg. He also has 4.8apg, a FGP of 65.5% and 3PT: 45.8%.
