Choh number one in New Zealand NBL for round 9

American-Cameroonian Forward Tamenang Choh (196-F-1998, agency: Helping Ballers) had a great game in the last round for second-ranked Canterbury Rams, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 9.
The 27-year old player had a double-double of 27 points and 11 rebounds, while his team outclassed Airs (#7, 3-6) with 27-point margin 113-86. Rams is placed at 2nd position in New Zealand NBL. They would have been even better if they did not have these two lost games earlier in Regular Season. Rams will need more victories to improve their 7-2 record. In the team's last game Choh had a remarkable 64.7% from 2-point range. He just recently signed at Rams, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Tamenang Choh averages this season 21.1ppg, 7.7rpg and 4.3apg.

The second best player in last round's games was young American Derrin Boyd (190-G-2000, agency: One Motive Sports) of Franklin Bulls. Boyd had a very good evening with 33 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists. Of course he led Bulls to another comfortable win 98-82 over the lower-ranked Hawks (#11, 2-7) being unquestionably team leader. This victory allowed Bulls to move up to 6th position in the standings. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 4-5 record. Boyd is one of the most experienced players at Bulls and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 22.4ppg (#6). His other stats are also decent: 5.6rpg and 4.1apg.

Third on the list of top players last round was American forward Isiah Small (202-F-1998) of Manawatu Jets (#8). Small showcased his all-around game by recording 23 points, 15 rebounds (!!!) and 5 assists in the last round. Despite Small's great performance the Jets lost 93-100 to the higher-ranked Rams (#2, 7-2). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. The chances of Jets not to end season at such low position in the league, however are less than slim as they have already lost 7 games, recording just three victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Small could try to bring Jets' a little bit higher in the standings. Small has a very solid season. In 3 games in New Zealand he scored 18.0ppg.
