Canterbury-Rams (NBL) strengthened their roster with addition of 25-year old international power forward Tai Wynyard (208cm-104kg-1998, college: Kentucky) for season 2023. Wynyard played last summer at Airs. In 13 New Zealand games he recorded 12.6ppg, 7.7rpg, 1.4apg, 1.1spg and 1.0bpg. He helped them to win the regular season and make it to the semifinals.
Wynyard has been also a member of New Zealand international program for some years. He has regularly played for New Zealand senior team since 2014 and previously for U19 National Team back in 2017.
Wynyard represented New Zealand at the FIBA Oceania Championship eight years ago. His team won Silver.
He has played previously professionally also in Australia (Cairns Taipans).
Among many awards Wynyard's college team won SEC Tournament in 2017. Wynyard was voted to Eurobasket.com All-World Cup U19 Honorable Mention back in 2017.
He attended University of Kentucky until 2018 and it will be his sixth season in pro basketball.
