Tauihi Basketball Aoteroa Round 2: Queens defeat Whai

There were only 2 rounds played so far and it's still very beginning of the Regular Season in Tauihi Basketball Aoteroa. Here is the last round review presented by LBM Management.

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Whai at the home court on Wednesday night. Hosts were rolled over by Queens 89-66. Queens shot 23 for 34 from the free-throw line, while Whai only scored five points from the stripe. 25 personal fouls committed by Whai helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American guard Chrislyn Carr (165, college: Louisville) orchestrated the victory by scoring 22 points and 8 rebounds. The other American import forward Maya Dodson (191-1999, college: Notre Dame) contributed with 23 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Austrian forward Sarah Sagerer (189-1996, college: Stetson) replied with 21 points for Whai. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Queens are looking forward to face Pouakai in the next round. Whai will play against Kahu and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Another interesting game for Queens which played on the court of Kahu. Queens had an easy win 84-71. American guard Stephanie Watts (180-1997, college: UNC) had a double-double by scoring 26 points and 14 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Chrislyn Carr chipped in 25 points during the contest. Queens' coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American forward Iimari Thomas (178-2000, college: UCLA) responded with 34 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds. Queens will play against Pouakai in the next round. Kahu will play against Hoiho to get more than just one victory in their record.
An interesting game for Kahu which hosted in Pouakai. Kahu managed to get a 14-point victory 78-64. Iimari Thomas notched a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds to lead the effort. Even a double-double of 14 points and 12 rebounds by Esra McGoldrick did not help to save the game for Pouakai. Kahu will meet Hoiho in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Pouakai will play against Queens and hope to win that game.
