Charlisse Leger-Walker (178-G, college: WSU, agency: LBM Management) has become the first New Zealand player to be drafted to the WNBA.

The 24-year-old UCLA guard was selected by the Connecticut Sun and was the 18th overall pick of the 2026 draft.

Currently Megan Compain, who played for the Utah Starz in 1997, is the only Kiwi to have played in the WNBA.
