Mainland P. - S. Hoiho 74-75 Hoiho (3-1) saved a 1-point victory on the road edging Pouakai (0-4) 75-74 on Thursday evening. Hoiho players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. They brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. It was an exceptional evening for American forward Ashten Prechtel (196-2001, college: Stanford) who led the winners and scored 22 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assists and 7 blocks. Her fellow American import guard Paige Bradley (178-1994, college: Denver) accounted for 22 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists for the winning side. Forward Sharne Robati (180-2001) came up with 24 points and 5 rebounds and American swingman Jasmine Dickey (175-2000, college: Delaware, agency: LBM Management) added 16 points and 7 rebounds respectively for Pouakai in the defeat. Pouakai's coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Hoiho will play against Whai (#4) in the next round. Kahu outrebounded Whai 46-28 including 17 on the offensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was the former international forward Penina Davidson (190-1995, college: California) who had a double-double by scoring 25 points and 20 rebounds (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line). American forward Iimari Thomas (178-2000, college: UCLA) chipped in 18 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists.
