Thomas number one in New Zealand Tauihi Basketball Aoteroa for round 6

American Forward Iimar'i Thomas (178-F-2000) had an amazing evening in the last round for top-ranked N. Kahu, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 6.
The 23-year old player was the main contributor (30 points, eight rebounds and two assists) to her team's victory, helping them to outclass Whai (#4, 3-5) with 26-point margin 100-74. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. It allowed N. Kahu to take over top position in the New Zealand Tauihi Basketball Aoteroa. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. N. Kahu has a very solid 6-3 record, but they cannot be too comfortable about keeping top position. Thomas turned to be N. Kahu's top player in her first season with the team. Former University of California at Los Angeles star has very solid stats this year. Thomas is league's best scorer averaging so far 25.4ppg. Thomas is in league's top in rebounds (5th best: 8.6rpg) and averages impressive 61.9% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was young American Jasmine Dickey (175-G/F-2000, agency: LBM Management) of Mainland P.. Dickey had a very good evening with a double-double of 28 points and 10 rebounds. Bad luck as Mainland P. lost that game 65-80 to slightly higher-ranked Tokomanawa Q. (#3, 5-4). Mainland P. are still at the very bottom. 7 lost games are too many comparing to just two victories Mainland P. managed to get this year. Dickey is a newcomer at Mainland P., but is already one of team's top players. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 24.0ppg (#2). She also registered 7.9 boards per game.

Third on the list of top players last round was another N. Kahu's star - international guard Tera Reed (183-G-1998). Reed scored 26 points and grabbed seven rebounds. She was another key player of N. Kahu, helping her team with a 100-74 easy win against #4 ranked Whai in a game of the week. N. Kahu confirms their top position in the standings. Their record at this point is 6 victories and 3 lost games. Reed has a great season in New Zealand. After only 8 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 18.9ppg (6th best) and assists with 3.5apg (8th best).
