Puerto Rico punched Olympic ticket with win over New Zealand, 69-67. The game that saw no less than 15 lead changes, whilst the Latin American team managed to survive the win.
Mya Hollingshed (190-F-1999, college: Colorado) top-scored for the winners with 20 points and Arella Guirantes (181-PG-1997, college: Rutgers) as well as Jacqueline Benitez (178-G-1997, college: JMU) poured in 13 each. Stella Beck (183-G-1995, college: SMC) replied with 21 points in a loss, whilst Esra McGoldrick (188-F-1999, college: NC State) netted 11. Puerto Rico played in the Tokyo Olympic Games 2020 were they finished 12th, and they will return to the Olympic stage in Paris this year.
