France recorded the third straight win at the Olympic Qualifying Tournament in Xi’an. They stormed past New Zealand to finish unbeaten. Gabrielle Williams (180-F-1996, college: UConn) nailed 21 points to lead the winners. France set the tone in the first half. They went on a massive 61-17 rally in the first twenty minutes to secure a comfortable lead before the second half. France limited their opponents to just 22 points in the second half and eased to the win. Dominique Malonga (198-C-2005) tossed in 13 points for the Europeans. Esra McGoldrick (188-F-1999, college: NC State) answered with 10 points for New Zealand. |
