The University of California at Los Angeles signed 22-year-old New Zealander international 5-10 guard Charlisse Leger-Walker for the upcoming season. The Waikato native played for the last three years at Washington State University. In 21 games in the USA, she averaged 13.2ppg, 6.5rpg, 5.1apg, and 1.7spg last season. She helped her team reach the WBI Championship Final Four in 2024 and win the Pac-12 Tournament in 2023. Leger-Walker received the All-Pacific-12 Conference All-Tournament MVP award in 2023 and was voted to the All-Pac-12 First Team and Pac-12 All-Tournament Team in the same year. Her team ended the regular season as the second-best in Pac-12, and she was selected to the All-Pac-12 First Team in 2022. Additionally, she was voted to the CoSIDA NCAA Division I Academic All-District 8 Team in 2022.
She played for Waikato Wizards in 2021. She received the All-Pac-12 Freshman of the Year award and was selected to the Pac-12 All-Freshman Team in 2021. She was voted to the All-Pac-12 First Team in 2021 and 2024. She was selected to the USBWA All-Americans Honorable Mention in 2021. She was voted to the WBCA NCAA Division I All-Americans Honorable Mention in 2021 and 2022. She was selected to the WBCA NCAA Division I All-Americans Region 5 Finals in 2021, 2022, and 2023.
She has been a member of the New Zealand international program for several years. She has regularly played for the New Zealand senior team since 2018 and previously for the Under 18 National Team in 2018.
She also repped New Zealand at the WBI Championship Final Four this year.
Among many awards, her team ended the regular season as the second-best place in New Zealand WBC in 2014 and 2017. She helped her team make it to the New Zealand WBC Finals in 2014 and 2018. She was voted to Australiabasket.com All-FIBA Oceania U17 First Team in 2017. She was selected to Eurobasket.com All-World Cup U17 Honorable Mention in 2018. She was also voted to Asia-Basket.com All-Asian Championship U18 Honorable Mention in 2018. She helped her team make it to the New Zealand WBC Semifinals and was also selected to the New Zealand 3x3 U18 Team in 2019.
