There were only 2 rounds played so far and it's still very beginning of the Regular Season in Tauihi Basketball Aoteroa. Here is the last round review presented by LBM Management.

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Whai at the home court on Friday night. Hosts were defeated by Kahu 87-75. N. Kahu made 30-of-37 free shots (81.1 percent) during the game. They also forced 20 Whai turnovers. It was a great shooting night for N. Kahu especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.9 percentage. 28 personal fouls committed by Whai helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was American swingman IimarI Thomas (178-2000, college: UCLA) who had a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds. Australian guard Chloe Forster (176-2003) chipped in 17 points and 8 rebounds. American swingman Ashley Joens (183-2000, college: Iowa St.) produced 29 points and 7 rebounds for the hosts. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Kahu are looking forward to face Mainland P. in the next round. Whai will play against S. Hoiho and is hoping to prove to their fans that the loss was just an accident.
Important game to mention about took place in . Kahu saved a 3-point victory on the road edging Queens 75-72 in the game for the first place. The former international guard Tahlia Tupaea (175-1997) orchestrated the victory by scoring 24 points and 4 assists. Penina Davidson contributed with 19 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. American forward Jordan Horston (188-2001, college: Tennessee) replied with 23 points and 5 rebounds for Tokomanawa Q.Kahu will play against Mainland P. in the next round. Queens will play against Whai and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
The game in was also quite interesting. Pouakai played at the court of Hoiho. Pouakai defeated Hoiho 91-78 on Saturday. McKenzie Forbes scored 17 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists to lead the charge for the winners. Samantha Bowman responded with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds. Pouakai will meet at home N. Kahu in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Hoiho will play against Whai and hope to win that game.

The game in was also quite interesting. Pouakai played at the court of Hoiho. Pouakai defeated Hoiho 91-78 on Saturday. Mainland P. made 24-of-24 free shots (100 percent !!!) during the game. They also forced 20 S. Hoiho turnovers. American guard McKenzie Forbes (183-2000, college: USC) scored 17 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists to lead the charge for the winners and Canadian swingman Cassandra Brown (189-1992, college: Portland) chipped in 20 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. American center Samantha Bowman (188, college: CWU) responded with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds and her fellow American import guard Paige Bradley (178-1994, college: Denver) scored 17 points and 4 assists. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Pouakai will meet at home N. Kahu in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Hoiho will play against Whai and hope to win that game.
