The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of top-ranked Kahu (5-2) at the home court on Saturday night. Hosts were edged by third ranked Pouakai (4-4) 69-66. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Kahu. 26 personal fouls committed by N. Kahu helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a good game for Canadian swingman Cassandra Brown (189-1992, college: Portland) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 14 rebounds (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line). American guard McKenzie Forbes (183-2000, college: USC) contributed with 17 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners. American swingman IimarI Thomas (178-2000, college: UCLA) replied with a double-double by scoring 28 points and 11 rebounds for N. Kahu. Kahu's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Mainland P. maintains third position with 4-4 record behind leader N. Kahu. N. Kahu at the other side still keeps top place with two games lost. Mainland P. are looking forward to face Whai (#4) in the next round. N. Hoiho's coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Defending champion moved-up to second place. S.
