Bradley number one in New Zealand Tauihi Basketball Aoteroa for round 7 (by Hoops Agents)

American Guard Paige Bradley (178-G-1994) put on an amazing game in the last round for Southern Hoiho, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 7.
The 30-year old player was the main contributor (28 points, five rebounds and eight assists) to her team's victory, helping them to beat Tokomanawa Q. (#1, 5-3) 88-83. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. Hoiho is placed at 4th position in New Zealand Tauihi Basketball Aoteroa. S. Hoiho is currently ranked second from the bottom. They need more victories to improve their 3-5 record. In the team's last game Bradley had a remarkable three three-pointers out of 6 attempts. She turned to be Hoiho's top player in her first season with the team. Former Denver University star has very solid stats this year. Bradley is in league's top in points (6th best: 18.4ppg), assists (3rd best: 5.3apg) and averages impressive 2.4spg.

The second best player in last round's games was young American Jordan Horston (188-F-2001) of league's leader Tokomanawa Queens. Horston had a very good evening with a double-double of 28 points and 13 rebounds. Of course Queens cruised to a 76-67 relatively comfortable win over N. Kahu (5-3). It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. N. Kahu managed to tie with Tokomanawa Q. at the very top position in the standings. Her team has currently 5-3 record. Horston is a newcomer at Tokomanawa Q., but is already one of team's top players. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 24.7ppg (#1). Her other stats are also decent: 10.2rpg and 5.3apg.

Third on the list of top players last round was American swingman Ashley Joens (183-G/F-2000) of Whai (#5). Joens scored 29 points and grabbed 13 rebounds (!!!). Despite Joens' great performance the Whai lost 83-98 to slightly higher-ranked Mainland P. (#3, 5-4). But her team cannot count on just a single shooter as she also needs help of the other teammates. The chances of Whai not to end season at such low position in the league, however are less than slim as they have already lost 6 games, recording just three victories. With bigger assistance of her teammates, Joens could try to bring Whai's a little bit higher in the standings. Joens has individually a great season in New Zealand. After only 9 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 24.2ppg (2nd best) and rebounds with 8.3rpg (7th best).
