Tauranga Whai (NBL) agreed terms with 23-year old New Zealander forward Sean Murphy (198cm-95kg-2002). Murphy just graduated from Lubbock Christian University (NCAA2) in USA. In 31 games he had 12.0ppg, 6.4rpg and 2.4apg last season. He helped them to win the regular season and make it to the LSC Tournament final.
Murphy started his college career at University of Nebraska-Kearney (NCAA2) where he played four seasons. Then he moved to Lubbock Christian University (NCAA2).
As mentioned above he is just out of college, so it will be his first season as a professional player. He was voted to All-LSC Honorable Mention in 2025.
