Wellington Saints (NBL) strengthened their roster with addition of 32-year old New Zealander international 198cm forward Jordan Ngatai (college: BYU-Hawaii). It is actually his comeback to Saints as he has played here before. Ngatai moved there from Kapfenberg Bulls in Austrian BSL league. In 30 games he recorded 10.8ppg, 2.8rpg and 1.8apg last season. The last season he played at Pyrinto in Finnish Korisliiga where in 19 games he averaged 11.0ppg, 3.9rpg and 1.4apg.
He has been also a member of New Zealand international program for some years. Ngatai has regularly played for New Zealand senior team since 2013 and previously for U18 National Team in 2010.
He represented New Zealand at the FIBA Olympic Games Qualifying Tournament in Piraeus (Greece) last year. His stats at that event were 2 games: 1.5ppg, 1.5rpg.
Ngatai has played previously professionally in Australia (Taipans and Breakers) and New Zealand (Hawks and Nuggets). He won New Zealand NBL championship title in 2014, 2017, 2019 and 2020.
Among many awards he was voted to Australiabasket.com All-New Zealand NBL Honorable Mention back in 2016.
Ngatai graduated from Brigham Young University - Hawaii in 2014 and it is his eleventh (!!!) season in pro basketball. He played also for Sierra College for one year.
