Combs' 26 points and 6 assists give him Hoops Agents Player of the Week award

29-year old American power forward Jeremy Combs (201-F/C-1995) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Nelson Giants and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 18.
He had the game-high 26 points adding six rebounds and six assists for Giants in his team's victory, helping them to outclass Hawks (#4, 9-8) with 36-point margin 117-81. Giants maintains the 10th position in New Zealand league. Too late to salvage the team, which is currently ranked such low. They already lost 10 games and recorded just four victories. In the team's last game Combs had a remarkable 61.5% from 2-point range. He just recently signed at Giants, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Jeremy Combs averages this season 24.1ppg, 7.3rpg and 4.9apg.

Second best performed player last round was Josiah Allick (203-F-2001) of Southland Sharks. He is American forward in his first season at Sharks. In the last game Allick recorded an impressive 19 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists. Of course Sharks cruised to a 99-90 relatively comfortable win over slightly higher-ranked Airs (#5, 8-6). This victory allowed Sharks to move up to 6th position in the standings. His team lost some distance to top teams. But a 8-8 record is not bad and everything may still change. Allick is one of the most experienced players at Sharks and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

Third place about best performers goes to Carlin Davison (197-SF-2003) of Taranaki Airs (#5). Davison showcased his all-around game by recording 26 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists in the last round. Despite Davison's great performance the Airs lost 90-99 to slightly lower-ranked Sharks (#6, 8-8). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. The last thing Airs needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams. Their record is 8 victories and 6 lost games. Davison has a very solid season. In 14 games in New Zealand he scored 20.1ppg. He also has 7.6rpg, 5.6apg, 2.2spg and a FGP of 54.5%.
