Australian Kyle Bowen (203-F-2000) put on an amazing game in the last round for league's leader Canterbury Rams and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 22.
The 24-year old forward recorded a triple-double of 16 points adding also 22 rebounds and 10 assists, while his team lost the game against Jets (#3, 11-7) 86-92. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. Despite this loss Rams managed to keep New Zealand NBL leading position. But there are still few teams in the league, which Rams can lose the games to. Now they are 14-3 and hopefully next round will be better. Bowen just recently signed at Rams, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Saint Mary's College of California graduate has very impressive stats this year. Bowen is in league's top in rebounds (8th best: 8.6rpg) and averages solid 1.1bpg and 56.5% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young international power forward Samuel Timmins (211-F/C-1997) of Southland Sharks. Timmins impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 28 points and 11 rebounds. Of course he led Sharks to another comfortable win 92-76 over the lower-ranked Hawks (#8, 9-11) being unquestionably team leader. Sharks' 4th position in the standings has not changed. His team's 11-8 record is not bad at all. Timmins is one of the most experienced players at Sharks and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

The third best performed player last round was Australian Daniel Grida (195-G/F-1998) of Hawkes Bay Hawks (#8). Grida scored 24 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. Despite Grida's great performance the Hawks lost 76-92 to the higher-ranked Sharks (#4, 11-8). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. The chances of Hawks ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 11 games, recording just nine victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Grida could help Hawks to bring them higher in the standings. Grida has a great season in New Zealand. After 13 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 25.1ppg (best scorer) and rebounds with 8.7rpg (7th best).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Josiah Allick (203-F-2001) of Sharks - 15 points, 15 rebounds and 3 assists
5. Jordan Ngatai (198-F-1993) of Saints - 27 points and 4 rebounds
6. Corey Webster (188-SG-1988) of Jets - 19 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists
7. Anzac Rissetto (208-F/C-2001) of Whai - 24 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists
8. Wani Swaka (198-G-2001) of Hawks - 20 points and 9 rebounds
9. Luther Muhammad (191-G-1999) of Tuatara - 16 points, 4 rebounds and 11 assists
10. Flynn Cameron (196-G-2000) of Bulls - 20 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
