The Regular Season in Tauihi Basketball Aoteroa just started. Here is the last round review presented by LBM Management.

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Hoiho in Christchurch on Friday night. Visitors were rolled over by Pouakai 121-83. Mainland P. dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Hoiho's 26 and made 22-of-24 free shots (91.7 percent) during the game. Mainland P. forced 20 S. Hoiho turnovers and outrebounded them 43-25 including a 19-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. Mainland P. looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Mainland P. made 7 blocks. Australian guard Marena Whittle (180-1994, college: NDSU, agency: LBM Management) fired 30 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. International guard McKenna Dale (183-1999, college: Virginia) chipped in 22 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists (made all of her nine free throws !!!). Australian guard Claire Jacobs (183-2001, college: Nevada) produced 27 points for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Pouakai are looking forward to face Tokomanawa Q. in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Hoiho will play against N. Kahu and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Another exciting game was between Tokomanawa Q. and Whai where Tokomanawa Q. beat Whai on the road 84-78. Worth to mention a great performance of Australian point guard Kristy Wallace (180-1996, college: Baylor, agency: LBM Management) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 16 points, 7 rebounds and 12 assists. Jihyun Park contributed with 16 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Australian forward Hannah Hank (188-2001, college: Clemson) answered with 21 points and 7 rebounds for Whai. Tokomanawa Q. will play against Mainland P. in Christchurch in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Whai will play against S. Hoiho and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Taylor Mikesell stepped up with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. At the losing side Haliegh Reinoehl responded with 31 points and 7 rebounds.
