Hank number one in New Zealand Tauihi Basketball Aoteroa for round 3

Australian Forward Hannah Hank (188-F-2001) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for top-ranked Whai, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 3.
The 24-year old player had a double-double of 31 points and 10 rebounds, while her team beat Mainland P. (#3, 2-2) 85-77. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. It allowed Whai to take over top position in the New Zealand Tauihi Basketball Aoteroa. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost that single game earlier this season. Whai has a very solid 3-1 record, but they cannot be too comfortable about keeping top position. In the team's last game Hank had a remarkable 53.8% from 2-point range. She turned to be Whai's top player in her first season with the team. Former Clemson University star has very solid stats this year. Hank is league's best scorer averaging so far 23.8ppg. Hank is in league's top in rebounds (4th best: 9.8rpg) and averages impressive 52.5% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was young international forward Penina Davidson (190-F-1995) of league's second-best Tokomanawa Queens. Davidson had a very good evening with a double-double of 22 points and 10 rebounds. Bad luck as Queens lost that game 73-80 to S. Hoiho (2-2). The season is still at the very beginning and this lost game may not be such crucial, of course if they start win the games. Let's wait for the next round. Davidson is a newcomer at Tokomanawa Q., but is already one of team's top players. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 15.7ppg (#7). She also registered 10.7 boards per game.

Third on the list of top players last round was another Whai's star - American Laina Snyder (185-C/F-1995). Snyder showcased her all-around game by recording 19 points, 14 rebounds (!!!) and 5 assists in the last round. She was another key player of Whai, helping her team with a 85-63 easy win against N. Kahu (#5, 0-3). Whai confirms their top position in the standings. Their record at this point is 3 victories and 1 lost game. Snyder has a great season in New Zealand. After only 4 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 14.8ppg (9th best), rebounds with 10.0rpg (3rd best) and assists with 4.3apg (9th best).
