Best players of New Zealand Tauihi Basketball Aoteroa round 4

American Laina Snyder (185-C/F-1995) had a great game in the last round for league's leader Whai and that's her to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 4.
The 30-year old had a double-double of 30 points and 13 rebounds, while her team beat Mainland P. (#4, 2-3) 102-93. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. It allowed Whai to jump to the first place in the New Zealand Tauihi Basketball Aoteroa. Whai have a solid 4-1 record. In the team's last game Snyder had a remarkable 53.3% from 2-point range and got four three-pointers out of 6 attempts. She turned to be Whai's top player in her first season with the team. Ashland University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Snyder is in league's top in points (3rd best: 17.8ppg), assists (8th best: 4.6apg) and averages solid 2.2spg and 53.3% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young international center Rebecca Pizzey (190-C-1999) of Southern Hoiho. Pizzey impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 19 points and 13 rebounds. Of course Hoiho cruised to a 95-86 relatively comfortable win over N. Kahu (#5, 0-5). S. Hoiho's 3rd position in the standings has not changed. Her team's 3-2 record is not bad at all. Pizzey is a newcomer at S. Hoiho and it seems she did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders.

The third best performed player last round was Australian Morgan Yaeger (175-G-1998) of Mainland Pouakai (#4). Yaeger scored 25 points and passed 6 assists. Despite Yaeger's great performance the Pouakai lost 93-102 to #1 ranked Whai. But her team cannot count on just a single player as she also needs help of the other teammates especially in such crucial game. The chances of Mainland P. ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 3 games, recording just two victories. With bigger assistance of her teammates, Yaeger could help Mainland P. to bring them higher in the standings. Yaeger has a very solid season. In 5 games in New Zealand she scored 11.4ppg.
