Wallace number one in New Zealand Tauihi Basketball Aoteroa for round 6

Australian Point guard Kristy Wallace (180-PG-1996, agency: LBM Management) had an amazing evening in the last round for top-ranked Tokomanawa Queens, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 6.
The 29-year old player was the main contributor (30 points, eight rebounds and three assists) to her team's victory, helping them to beat Whai (5-2) 80-70. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. It allowed Queens to take over top position in the New Zealand Tauihi Basketball Aoteroa. They would have been even better if they did not have these two lost games earlier in Regular Season. Tokomanawa Q. has a very solid 5-2 record, but they cannot be too comfortable about keeping top position. Wallace turned to be Queens's top player in her first season with the team. Former Baylor University star has very solid stats this year. Wallace is in league's top in points (3rd best: 18.3ppg).

The second best player in last round's games was young Australian Jessie Edwards (193-C-1995) of Southern Hoiho. Edwards had a very good evening with 19 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. Of course she led Hoiho to another comfortable win outscoring slightly lower-ranked Mainland P. (#4, 4-4) 102-66. It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. S. Hoiho consolidated its place in top 3 of the standings. Her team's 4-3 record is not bad at all. Edwards is a newcomer at S. Hoiho, but is already one of team's top players.

Third on the list of top players last round was Australian guard Marena Whittle (180-G-1994, agency: LBM Management) of Mainland Pouakai (#4). Whittle scored 22 points and grabbed 11 rebounds (!!!). She was a key player of Pouakai, leading her team to a 85-66 easy win against N. Kahu (#5, 0-7). Mainland P. needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 4 victories and 4 lost games. Whittle has a great season in New Zealand. After only 8 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 19.6ppg (2nd best) and rebounds with 7.9rpg (5th best).
