International Center Rebecca Pizzey (190-C-1999) put on an amazing game in the last round for Southern Hoiho and that's her to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 7.
The 26-year old center had the game-high 20 points adding nine rebounds and four assists for S. Hoiho in her team's victory, helping them to beat N. Kahu (#5, 0-8), the league's bottom-ranked team 73-59. Hoiho maintains the 4th position in New Zealand Tauihi Basketball Aoteroa. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. S. Hoiho will need more victories to improve their 5-4 record. In the team's last game Pizzey had a remarkable 55.6% from 2-point range. She turned to be Hoiho's top player in her first season with the team. Pizzey has impressive league stats. She is in league's top in rebounds (8th best: 7.6rpg) and averages solid 1.1bpg and 64.2% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was another S. Hoiho's star - young Australian center Jessie Edwards (193-C-1995). Edwards impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 17 points and 10 rebounds. Bad luck as Southern Hoiho was edged by the higher-ranked Whai (#1, 6-2) 83-81. It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. Hoiho still maintains its place in the top 4 of the standings, even despite this loss. Her team's 5-4 record is not bad at all. Edwards is a newcomer at Hoiho and it seems she did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders.

The third best performed player last round was Australian Kristy Wallace (180-PG-1996, agency: LBM Management) of second-ranked Tokomanawa Queens. Wallace showcased her all-around game by recording 21 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists in the last round. Despite Wallace's great performance the Queens lost 89-93 to #3 ranked Mainland P.. But her team cannot count on just a single player as she also needs help of the other teammates especially in such crucial game. The last thing Tokomanawa Q. needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams. Their record is 5 victories and 3 lost games. Wallace has a great season in New Zealand. After only 8 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 18.6ppg (3rd best) and assists with 7.0apg (best passer).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Penina Davidson (190-F-1995) of Tokomanawa Q. - 20 points and 10 rebounds
5. Emme Shearer (183-G-2002) of Whai - 26 points, 6 rebounds and 2 assists
6. Paige Bradley (178-G-1994) of S. Hoiho - 11 points, 4 rebounds and 10 assists
7. Jihyun Park (180-F-2000) of Tokomanawa Q. - 18 points, 7 rebounds and 2 assists
8. Aubryanna Hall (180-G) of Mainland P. - 18 points, 2 rebounds and 2 assists

10. McKenna Dale (183-G-1999) of Mainland P. - 20 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
