Australian Point guard Kristy Wallace (180-PG-1996, agency: LBM Management) had a great game in the last round for second-ranked Tokomanawa Queens, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 9.
The 29-year old player was the main contributor (26 points, four rebounds and five assists) to her team's victory, helping them to beat Whai (#3, 6-5) 88-82. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. Queens maintains the 2nd position in New Zealand Tauihi Basketball Aoteroa. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Tokomanawa Q. will need more victories to improve their 7-4 record. Wallace turned to be Queens's top player in her first season with the team. Former Baylor University star has very solid stats this year. Wallace is league's best scorer averaging so far 19.4ppg. Wallace is in league's top in assists (2nd best: 6.8apg) and averages impressive 41.4% from behind 3-point line.

The second best player in last round's games was young Australian Hannah Hank (188-F-2001) of Whai. Hank had a very good evening with a double-double of 20 points and 18 rebounds. Bad luck as Whai lost that game 66-81 to slightly lower-ranked N. Kahu (#5, 1-9). Whai is still second from the bottom in the standings. Her team's 6-5 record is not bad at all. Hank is a newcomer at Whai, but is already one of team's top players. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 19.2ppg (#3). She also registered 8.6 boards per game.

Third on the list of top players last round was another Whai's star - American forward Mikayla Cowling (188-F-1996, agency: LBM Management). Cowling showcased her all-around game by recording 23 points, 11 rebounds (!!!) and 6 assists in the last round. Despite Cowling's great performance the Whai lost 82-88 to #2 ranked Tokomanawa Q.. But her team cannot count on just these two top stars as they also need help of the other teammates especially in such crucial game. The last thing Whai needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams. Their record is 6 victories and 5 lost games. Cowling has a great season in New Zealand. After 11 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 7.5rpg (9th best) and assists with 4.1apg (7th best).
