New Zealand delivered a commanding performance at the FIBA U17 Oceania Cup, overwhelming Samoa 126–50 with a display of superior pace, skill, and depth. The Junior Tall Blacks exploded out of the gate with a 40-point first quarter, immediately creating a gap Samoa struggled to close. New Zealand maintained their dominance with a 31-point second period to take a massive halftime lead. Samoa’s best stretch came in the third quarter, where they put up 21 points, but New Zealand still outscored them with 26. The final quarter saw NZL finish strong with 29 points while holding Samoa to just 7, closing out a comprehensive victory.
Hoani Ifopo-Togia (195-F-2008) led the way with 24 points and Milan Newton (183-G-2008) had 15. Kingston Tutani (182-G-2009) and Brandon Gray (188-F-2009) answered with 11 points each in defeat.
