Taranaki Airs (NBL) have signed 28-year-old American guard Aaron Cook (188cm-84kg-1997, college: Georgia) for the upcoming 2026 season. He will be joining fellow American player Xavier Green on the team's roster. Cook was the assist leader at ZZ Leiden in the Dutch DBL league last season, averaging 9.2ppg, 2.8rpg, 5.8apg, and 2.0spg in 9 games. He played a key role in helping the team win the Supercup and reach the league final. In the 2024-25 season, Cook was named to the Eurobasket.com All-Dutch League Honorable Mention for his performance. Additionally, he played 36 games in the BNXT League, where he averaged 10.9ppg, 2.1rpg, 4.6apg, and 1.6spg.
Cook is a highly experienced player who has also played professionally in Cyprus (Paralimni), Germany (Eisbaeren Bremerhaven), Kosovo (Peja), and Lithuania (Nevezis).
Cook graduated from the University of Georgia in 2022 and is entering his fourth season as a professional player. He has also played for other colleges such as Gonzaga University and Southern Illinois University.
