Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when SE Melbourne made 7 blocks. American forward Matt Hurt (206-2000, college: Duke) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 32 points and 12 rebounds for the winners and the former international guard Nathan Sobey (190-1990, college: Wyoming) chipped in 31 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. American swingman Casey Prather (198-1991, college: Florida) responded with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds and the former international forward Josh Bannan (208-2001, college: Montana) scored 23 points and 9 rebounds. Four Brisbane players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. SE Melbourne moved-up to fifth place. Loser Bullets keeps the seventh position with 12 games lost. They share it with Adelaide. SE Melbourne will meet at home NZL Breakers (#9) in the next round.
