Regular Season Round 20: Brisbane - Melbourne 88-115

Date: January 26, 2025
The game in Brisbane supposed to be also quite interesting. Second ranked United (17-10) played at the court of 8th ranked Bullets (11-16). United smashed Bullets 115-88 on Sunday. Melbourne looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. The best player for the winners was the former international forward Jack White (201-1997, college: Duke) who scored 17 points and 6 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). American guard Ian Clark (190-1991, college: Belmont) chipped in 24 points. American guard Josh Adams (188-1993, college: Wyoming) produced 23 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and New Zealand forward Tohi Smith-Milner (206-1995, college: Polk State CC) added 16 points and 8 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Melbourne maintains second position with 17-10 record having just one point less than leader Illawarra. Loser Bullets keeps the eighth place with 16 games lost. Melbourne will meet at home Tasmania JJ (#7) in the next round where they are favorite. Brisbane will play against Adelaide in Findon and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
