Regular Season Round 21: Perth - SE Melbourne 100-99

A very close game took place in Perth between Wildcats and Phoenix. Third ranked Wildcats (17-11) got a very close home victory over 5th ranked Phoenix (16-12). Wildcats managed to escape with a 1-point win 100-99 in the game for the third place. Perth made 18-of-21 free shots (85.7 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. American forward Kristian Doolittle (201-1997, college: Oklahoma, agency: Pensack Sports) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 13 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners and his fellow American import guard Bryce Cotton (182-1992, college: Providence, agency: Pensack Sports) chipped in 29 points and 6 assists (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line). Wildcats' coach John Rillie used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. The best for the losing side was the former international center Jordan Hunter (208-1997, college: SMC) with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 13 rebounds and American forward Matt Hurt (206-2000, college: Duke) scored 19 points and 7 rebounds. Four Perth and five SE Melbourne players scored in double figures. Perth maintains third place with 17-11 record behind leader Illawarra. Loser Phoenix dropped to the fourth position with 12 games lost. They share it with Sydney. Perth will meet at home Adelaide (#6) in the next round. SE Melbourne's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Melbourne to the arena Melbourne.
