South Sudanese forward Majok Deng (205-1993, college: ULM) notched 21 points and 7 rebounds to lead the effort and American point guard Jordon Crawford (168-1990, college: BGSU, agency: Slash Sports) supported him with 19 points and 4 assists. Even 17 points and 8 rebounds by American power forward Tanner Groves (208-1999, college: Oklahoma) did not help to save the game for Cairns . The former international guard Taran Armstrong (198-2002, college: CBU) added 16 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Defending champion moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Adelaide. Loser Taipans stay at the bottom position with 21 games lost.
