Regular Season Round 16: Townsville - Perth 86-87

Another exciting game for Perth (16-5) which played on the court of Townsville (15-6). Second ranked Perth eked out just a narrow 1-point road win over Townsville 87-86. It ended at the same time the eight-game winning streak of Townsville Fire. Strangely Townsville Fire outrebounded Perth Lynx 51-37 including a 19-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. Perth Lynx brought some defensive toughness making 9 blocks. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Alex Wilson (175-1994) who helped to win the game recording 21 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and the former international forward Anneli Maley (185-1998, college: TCU) who added 11 points and 14 rebounds during the contest. Four Perth Lynx players scored in double figures. At the losing side swingman Courtney Woods (183-1997, college: NIU) responded with 27 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and American forward Nia Coffey (185-1995, college: Northwestern, agency: LBM Management) scored 19 points and 9 rebounds. Perth maintains second position with 16-5 record having just two points less than leader Bendigo. Townsville at the other side keeps the third place with six games lost.
