We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams whenUnited was smashed by Pioneers in Geelong 108-58 on Saturday. Mt.Gambier made 28-of-30 free shots (93.3 percent) during the game, while Geelong U. only scored seven points from the stripe. They outrebounded Geelong U. 48-28 including a 37-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. Forward Akech Aliir (204-2000) nailed a double-double by scoring 31 points and 10 rebounds (made all of his twelve free throws !!!) for the winning side and Joe Palmer accounted for 17 points and 12 rebounds. Five Pioneers players scored in double figures. Forward Tristan Forsyth (208-1998, college: CBU) came up with 13 points and 5 rebounds and American point guard Kaelen Malone (185-1995, college: ORU) added 5 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists respectively for Geelong U. in the defeat. United's coach gave up on the game allowing to play twelve players seeing no chance for a win.
